March 31, 2007. In NHL Open Ice, the Vancouver team of Bure, Linden, Mogilny, McLean in goal defeated the Detroit Team of Ciccarelli, Fedorov, Yzerman, Vernon in goal. This is the most lopsided game in the history of NHL Open Ice ever recorded. Hockey and video game enthusiasts have tried to set a new record by winning 26-3 but they have not come close. Many thumb and tricep injuries have been suffered. San Jose almost broke the record. The team of Ozolinsh and Dahlen with Irbe in net defeated the Edmonton Oilers team of Arnott and Weight with Ranford in net by a score of 23-2. That is not that impressive since the margin of victory was a minuscule 21 goals.
